How to be a Head of English 2025

This full day course will take place live online on Friday 7th February. It is for current English HODs and aspiring HODs which covers a wide range of areas including:

• curriculum, golden threads and building for progress
• understanding your student cohort, community and building a curriculum for them
• balancing the demands of language and literature
• using data strategically and planning meaningful intervention
• looking after your team: development, standards and pastoral care
• how to develop an English team who are a beacon for whole school literacy
• quality assurance of T&L
• establishing a sensible marking and feedback policy
• managing your time and being ruthless with your priorities
• managing change
